About Miss Rhea

Miss Rhea is a passionate force in the world of dance—an accomplished educator, performer, and advocate who has been immersed in the performing arts since the age of four. A proud graduate of York University, she holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) in Dance with a specialization in Pedagogy and Movement Analysis.

Currently, Rhea wears many hats: she is the visionary owner of Creative Connexions Performing Arts Centre, the President of the Board of Directors for Ballet Creole Dance Company in Toronto, and a dedicated high school arts educator. Her impact extends beyond the studio and classroom—Rhea has authored curriculum for the Toronto Catholic District School Board, shaping the future of dance education across the region.

With over 20 years of diverse training, Rhea is well-versed in a wide range of styles including Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Ballroom, Hip Hop, and Afro-Caribbean dance. Her training and mentorship from esteemed artists such as John Ottman (National Ballet of Canada), Patrick Parson (Ballet Creole), Helen Jones (Toronto Dance Theatre), and Donna Krasnow (York University, The Limón Institute NYC) have deeply informed her holistic and inclusive approach to dance education.

Rhea holds multiple professional certifications and memberships, including with the Canadian Dance Teachers Association, Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers, Royal Academy of Dance (RTS), Acrobatic Arts, PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique), and the Professional Adjudicators Alliance. She is also a certified Ontario teacher and has taught at top-performing arts schools across Toronto, the Durham Region, and internationally in the Caribbean.

An active voice in the professional dance community, Rhea has served on grant assessment panels for the Manitoba Arts Council and contributed to The Dance Current, Canada’s leading dance magazine. Her work as a speaker and researcher has taken her across North America, including to the prestigious International Association of Blacks in Dance Conference in Los Angeles.

Above all, Rhea is driven by a mission to inspire healthy, empowered dancers. Through every class, performance, and publication, she brings a joyful, holistic perspective to the performing arts—one that nurtures both the body and spirit.
